So............ What happened to the VNT?

RE: 205 DT sleeper - boosting video pg10 and pg11 - ginge191 - 30-06-2013

It's on hold whilst I get on with some safety aspects; keeping the bonnet down, brakes, suspension.
I'm happy with 154bhp but I need to be safe whilst driving

Fair enough..

Mine handles like an absolute boat but still plan on 11mm bosch power first! Tongue

Tbh, 9mm fuels absolutely fine to about 175.
11mm is a safe option IMO

175 ish is starting to push the 9mm tbh, personally I'd want an 11mm for anything 160+

I'd rather have the 11mm running 175 and not having to struggle or be worried about.

Mind you I've never had an 11mm so I may end up regretting it (although very unlikely).

So 152bhp on what setup.

RE: 205 DT sleeper - boosting video pg10 and pg11 - ginge191 - 30-06-2013

Standard 9mm, t2, TMIC, just a tune to the pump.

RE: 205 DT sleeper - boosting video pg10 and pg11 - cwspellowe - 30-06-2013

Forgive me for being naive and/or not reading, but where did those numbers come from?

That does seem very high for what your running?

The dyno figures?
First run was 153.8
Second was 151.9
or something; off top of my head

^this. Exactly my thoughts.

RE: 205 DT sleeper - boosting video pg10 and pg11 - ginge191 - 30-06-2013

As said; all other cars were pretty much spot on for their setup.

I can't say much else.. It's a boxer engine so slightly differs from the usual DT lumps thus 2bhp more standard.. Not that it makes loads of difference

You've seen the dyno graph. Not much else I can say..

I don't think that's high. Gt15 k14 were getting 130/140 in the past. My original engine with t2 kept up with 6s and other crap pre engine swap and t25.

Only difference is ginge wil lose power the longer he drives due to heatsoak. I bet his third run would have been lower if he had been allowed to do one.

Yeah, 130/140 in the past, but are you trying to tell me you can get an extra 15bhp by fitting a T2?

And not Max it's got f*ck all to do with hating, the numbers just don't seem.. right? That's all. We can all read a graph thanks.

LMAO, I'm not max. Angel

Hehe.. Blush

RE: 205 DT sleeper - boosting video pg10 and pg11 - Pompey306mark - 30-06-2013

Gt15 is smaller than a t2, it spools faster but not by much.

So yea I think a t2 would make 15bhp more than a gt15.

My t2 made 130 which was fubr'd on an unhealthy engine.

205 DT sleeper - boosting video pg10 and pg11 - ginge191 - 30-06-2013

Lol
I don't know why there's debate/hate around? The engine was only on 30k odd as I was told, the turbo was immaculate before it went in..

Again, I don't know what else to say.

RE: 205 DT sleeper - boosting video pg10 and pg11 - Pompey306mark - 30-06-2013

Hence my joke on Facebook when you first posted the results lol.

I thought this would happen Wink

RE: 205 DT sleeper - boosting video pg10 and pg11 - cwspellowe - 30-06-2013

Itwasntme

f*ck's sake boys. Hate to be blunt, it just comes as a shock that someone who can't even fit a cambelt managed to hit 150+bhp on a god knows how many year old T2 and TMIC.

So Mark, you knew what would happen exactly? That people would be surprised by the result? Thanks Captain Obvious...

Torque's a little on the low side anyway. As i said, the numbers don't seem to add up.

RE: 205 DT sleeper - boosting video pg10 and pg11 - ginge191 - 30-06-2013

Thanks for the input Chris..

I've been tuning XUD's for a number of years, and the first time I attempted a cambelt change was on this engine change. I think it's a bit unfair to put both in the same category; final power output..

RE: 205 DT sleeper - boosting video pg10 and pg11 - Jimbo - 30-06-2013

In this case my t2 bosch with my fmic should make that sort of power with the correct fuelling

RE: 205 DT sleeper - boosting video pg10 and pg11 - ginge191 - 30-06-2013

Technically, yes.
Again, consider the mileage on this engine, and the "right fueling" isn't an easy step
