Thats good going then Smile Saved you some time and money

RE: Project Babyliss - Curt - 19-03-2013

Yeah definitely Smile

Had a half day today so made the most of the sun.

Firstly I got a shift extender to take it closer to the steering wheel and also to make cold changes a bit easier. Thought it was a 3" one, but it's 4"... so a bit extreme! Have ordered a 2" one now. The thread was too long though, so I cut it down:

I didn't like the silver either, so sprayed it black:

Fitted with my 8 ball:

Then I fitted my bumper properly (well, properly for me) and removed the 1 stubborn mud flap I had left. Still a 306 owner, so out came the cable ties:

A very quick bodge to cover some paint flaking:

Polished my sprayed rear quarter. It was only SRP though as my compound was in the house and I was lazy, will get the mop on it.

Aaaand fitted my rear tow hook:

Ooh yes Smile. I would have done it properly but didn't have any bolts that fitted!

Ahaha Tongue

Nah man is looking awesome

RE: Project Babyliss - samass - 19-03-2013

8 ball gear knob FTW.

RE: Project Babyliss - Fozzy - 19-03-2013

I Think the knob in its current position is fine, i have no need to extend it..........

Gigiddy. Just trying something new Smile I like both to be honest, just my 'box is a bit stiff before it's warmed up and can be a bitch. But lets be honest, your knob in it's current position doesn't get much use Tongue

RE: Project Babyliss - Fozzy - 19-03-2013

lmaolmao

RE: Project Babyliss - C.A.R. - 20-03-2013

I had the very same gearknob in mine. Great minds...

RE: Project Babyliss - Curt - 20-03-2013

8 ball is pretty win.

Well first time leaving my drive to since fitting it, smacked my tow hook on my drive... Where it flattened the bottom it made it nice and razor sharp, while inspecting it I sliced my thumb open lol

RE: Project Babyliss - Niall - 20-03-2013

simple answer then. Drive over it several times till it smashes a dip into the drive then just make sure you drive out in exactly the same place lol

RE: Project Babyliss - Curt - 20-03-2013

Haha, good plan! I may have to get some cement out and try and make it a more gentle slope at some point

RE: Project Babyliss - Ed Doe - 20-03-2013

^^Given the quantity of lowered (read mostly broken) cars that frequent yours on a regular basis (I'm talking about our french heaps in case there is any confusion) I'm surprised this hasn't been thought of sooner!!! Tongue

RE: Project Babyliss - Fozzy - 20-03-2013

I think its quite rude that curt hasn't levelled out the entrance to his place. You would think he would make an effort for us lot.

RE: Project Babyliss - Curt - 20-03-2013

Oh yeah I thought of it aaages ago, when the Audi was this low:

It was a bit of a bitch lol just never got round to it.

Terribly sorry for the inconvenience chaps Tongue

Post brought me some parcels today.

Goodies!

I've always liked those mirrors, they're like these:

http://www.autolinkmx5.com/chrome-door-mirror-set-mx-5-mk1-new-2653-p.asp

Except they're not £129.99 delivered... they were in fact £19.95 a side. After inspecting, they are exactly the same! Apart from some ali adapters. So I've ordered some ali plate (a whole £4) and I'm going to make my own.

RE: Project Babyliss - Fozzy - 21-03-2013

Saved yourself a bomb there. Didn't realise they were these ones when you sent the link. Get those adaptors made and fitted then photos Smile

RE: Project Babyliss - Curt - 21-03-2013

Oh yes! Yeah man, as you know, all the bits are on their way to me so waiting for postie. Looking forward to it, and I'll be sure to take plenty of pics Smile

RE: Project Babyliss - Curt - 25-03-2013

Had a delivery from the USofA, which I didn't realise was what I was collecting from the post office lol it only just fit:

My auto throttle body with variable TPS also turned up which I'll need for the Megasquirt:

RE: Project Babyliss - Curt - 07-04-2013

So I got another exhaust, a 5Zigen Border 304. Got it cheap with a couple of pin holes at the welds. Got them welded up straight away, and Fozzy helped me fit it (well, fitted it, I ruined my back) this weekend. We also got lots of other bits fitted... GV lip is on, along with my stainless tow hook, offset plate and we removed the fogs too (in a very technical manner, I didn't get bored and just pull them...).

Had a really good weekend, many thanks to John for all of it, and Katie putting up with us lol

The exhaust sounds EPIC, it is very very loud, pops and bangs galore... John can vouch for this! Went shopping today and I'm pretty sure the whole of Chi looked at it.. Some looks of joy and amusement, some pure disgust lmao

Front end is quite a transformation too, just a shame there's TEN holes under the old plate! So my bumper looks a bit rough, but I guess it matches the rest of the car.

Anyway, pictures!

RE: Project Babyliss - Fozzy - 07-04-2013

No problem bud, happy to help, but to be fair i only fitted the centre section lol.

The looks of disgust you got them yesterday when driving past the pub. Makes me laugh. It does sound epic.

RE: Project Babyliss - C.A.R. - 07-04-2013

Looks awesome buddy.

Please don't be tempted to put a 'drift charm' stuffed toy on the tow hook, so played out and it looks stupid! Lots of Nutz'ers used to do it, please don't! Was reminded by a chav-charriot Corsa this evening...

Haha, haven't really got that far yet...

Cheers Smile. The tyres are spot on, don't need or want anymore stretch... and they're brand new. It's as low as I want too, it's a new level of impractical beyond a 306 as it is.

Haha, well you helped a lot! Yeah it was funny, may have done that to a lot of people today lol it's so much fun.

Thanks Chris. Nah trust me I'm not at all, it's another one of those stupid fads. Don't worry, won't be happening to mine!

Hopefully get some work done on my mirror adapters in the week. Then it's a service both cars, mop the Eunos and sort out the interior. Then, audio.

RE: Project Babyliss - Poodle - 08-04-2013

Failing another camping meet, could just head down for a pub lunch one weekend. Its been too long, would be good to catch up. Plus I want to see this offending people first hand haha. :p
