The DW10 Engine |
The HDI (DW10) is a 2.0L direct injection, common rail diesel engine, as fitted to the later Ph3 "HDI" 306's. It makes similar power to the XUD as standard, and is also easily tuned by "re-mapping" the ecu. There are a few well known and well documented faults with the HDI engine, but if looked after, can prove to also be a very reliable workhorse. These engines were fitted with a longer final drive in the transmission as standard, and often known for there extra "refinement" over the older XUD engines. |
