Help with fitting Baker BM gearbox mount!
#1
Hi all,

Me and Kris tried fitting my new engine and gearbox mounts today (which was a fail as he forgot most of his tools and his jack haha.

Anyway we started by trying to do the gearbox mount. Got to it no problem and took it off fine. But the two bolts holding it in place wouldnt come out. This is where we need you! Could you please tell us how to remove these please. We tried a hammer and various car parts laying about to try and hit them out but they werent budging. Have people just cut then off in the past?

Here are some pics:

The two mounts...

The bolts...

As said once the mount was removed the bolts werent budging.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Them studs arnt supposed to come out. You have the wrong mount mate. I had the same problem when I did mine.

If your hammer didnt work, you need a bigger hammer

Found out that it's because my car is a 1.4 and the new mount is for a gti, so the mounts bigger. Will grind the bolts off and put two new ones in!
