This is my current setup. The turbo is turning out to be a bit of a mystery in terms of identifying exactly what it is as searching the serial number doesn't come up with any results. All I know for certain about it is that the turbo came from a MAN LE2000 rigid body lorry and is made by holset, here's a link to the website that has some good info about MAN engines and turbos for anyone that's interested in some further reading http://en.turbolader.net/turbochargers/M...arger.aspx

What figures & graph you expecting?

absolutely no idea tbh, anything over 150bhp i would be happy with considering it still on a 9mm pump without any gov mods. when its back on the road il have to take people out in it for a sort of guess the power day before the rolling road

Interesting. Hopefully your turbo will deliver most of the goods before 4/4.5k ~ then Smile

Ive got an 11mm, lda ground and gov modded pump waiting to go on, just want to see what its producing with a 9mm before i swap them over Smile
but yeah, luckily the turbo reaches 21psi at about 2.7k rpm so packs quite a punch without need for high revs.

Garrett GT2052 removed from a Merc 2.2 diesel. On T2 manifold, vacuum actuator replaced by modified TD04 actuator. Custom downpipe with 3" elbow with v-band connection. Will be running 18-20psi.

Car's not on the road yet because of brake problems Sad Once it's going it should be a pretty epic turbo for the B roads.

EXACTLY how it should be done on an XUD9...

Love this setup.

Nope, sticking to wastegate to keep things simple.

Can't wait to get it on the road, it sounds epic just when revving it, so it should be even better when on boost Smile

Looks like a hdi type coolant heater to me. Uses 4 glowplugs to heat the coolant.

Guess that took a bit of bulkhead modification?

Garrett GT2056S from a Vauxhall Movano 2.5D. 56mm compressor wheel, 55 trim, 0.47AR.

2.5" two-piece tight radius elbow welded to a 10mm steel adapter plate. 8" flexi section, sleeve fitting to 2.25" all the way back, looking to get a full stainless setup next year.

Absolute beast of a turbo for the application, crazy amounts of torque and nothing but wheelspin in 1st, 2nd and 3rd. 4th in the wet is pretty ropey too.

Already killed two of these in three months though so it's becoming an expensive addiction....

Something must be going wrong, surely even at 25PSI a 2052/56 would be a beast!?

Can't figure it out mate, but thinking about it last night it must be the turbo that's popped again. First time round it was definitely user error, I hadn't clamped the compressor housing properly. This time everything was checked and double checked, turbo was solid before fitting, it was primed with oil properly, engine warmed up before pushing hard.

And it was an animal even at low RPM, the death came after the first run through the whole rev range at full throttle. f*ck knows why it popped, the gauge said about 35psi but was only for about 5 seconds, surely not enough to destroy bearings?

For the exhaust? No, just took quite a few attempts to get it angled right to clear everything!

Does sound a bit strange, don't think I'd ever want to push more than 30PSI through the block without having rebuilt it, which you did though right? Either your the most unlucky modified XUD owner in the country or your doing something wrong! Tongue

Yeah it is pretty high, I didn't turn the fuel down from when I had the T2 and it was pretty maxed out, think this turbo has overboosted to the 35, before that i'd only taken it up to 25psi or so tops.

Engine was rebuilt with a new head, gasket and bolts but not properly rebuilt, cleaned up etc. Certainly not forged or anything. The T2 ran at 28psi all day long. Until it developed an interesting noise. Fuel filter was very old though so when I replaced that it started smoking more, that was after removing the T2 so probably 32+psi's worth of fuel on the T2.
