How easy is it to smooth a boot? And is it best to get to get it welded were the boot lock/pop used to be?

Im looking into this.
Deffo get it welded. Much better.
My problem is the popper and how to wire it in.
I can remember dum doing a guide for this but he just used bubbly gum to fill his hole. But hey if it works then it works.

just need a centrol locking servo motor, earth it, and then run a positive feed to it from a switch inside.

Mine was welded, I can't take credit for it, but I did wire up the popper, much easier than you'd expect, probably took less than an hour and that included running a signal wire from the boot hatch, down the C-pillar and to the control panel on the drivers side of the car. Hook it up to permanent live though, or you have to f*ck about turning the ignition on to open your boot.
Disclaimer: The above is not to be taken to heart and is probably a joke, grow up you big girl.

you could also just use some fiberglass from behind to hold a metal plate in place then a little skim of filler on the outside

can't see the benefit of fibreglassing a piece of metal in to only fill/skim over when you may aswell just fill over the fibreglass!? Undecided
