Nice write up, couldn't have done it better myself,
I should mention something though that gave me a bit of bother....
Dum-Dum mentioned something about the Thermostat on the back of the block, this is a completely different setup to the 1.9 and the engine I bought (2.1) had most of it missing, mainly the top part of it, I went to a Peugeot dealer to see if I could buy one, I could, sort of... they would only sell me the complete assembly as it was all machined together to match up, and it's cost.........
£200!!!???!?!?!?!?!!???
f*ck that....
I even rang around local scrap yards, they didn't have what I wanted and the guy that I bought the engine off was willing to send me the missing part, so I had to make my own, it works fine and doesn't leak but it's a hassle that I shouldn't have had to deal with,
So when buying your engine make sure it has this on it and everything else that you need for the job,
Also just to note, I've had no problems with the revablity of this engine over the 1.9, they seem about the same really.... I would have another 2.1 over a 1.9 any day
