On a diesel there is pretty much no performance/mechanical gain, so fitting one would be for the noise only. Many people like the sound of them, fit one and then get annoyed with it after a few weeks and remove it/sell it on.

does my head hearing them on diesels, but personal preference I guess ...

i like the sound of them but there really is no point to them on a diesel. i got 1 on my D turbo but i think its going to be coming off when the FMIC goes on

Most likely will decrease performance on a deseasel... As Danexclamationmark said, most fit it for the novelty but it soon wears off

I had one for a laugh and put it on a switch so I could de-activate it when I liked. There was a noticeable lag increase with it on, so all they do is slow it down.
