I'm assuming most people just re-use them when rebuilding an engine? I've had some people saying I should get a new one because if it fails the engine fails, but other people and myself thinking that its constantly submersed in oil so should be fine.. any thoughts?

Get a 6bar oil pump spring and see how you go thats what i did i guess if you has a way of turning the sprocket on the oil pump you could test it somehow
