Hunting, whiteish smoke on idle, diesel knock..

Wild guess and say my pump is too far advanced?? lol

If this is the case why has it gotten worse over the last few weeks? The pump was adjusted so it was running well when put on so why has it changed now? I cant think of anything that was changed to affect it really.. Thanks Smile

Yea you could try some redx or something. I tend to wait till the fuel light comes on then tip in the whole bottle then take it for a good thrashing. Or just chuck a litre of perv in to the tank!

Diesel purge is good stuff get about 4/5 litres take feed and return pipes into a 5L tub and run the car on it neat for a good 20/30 mins i did this and cleaned everything like a whistle Smile and stopped this problem for me

Can get diesel purge off ebay but it is fair pricy but worked a treat for me

Other than that get another set of injectors or take them for refurb

It could be air getting in to the dieselpump a small leak in the dieselpump.
Iff not it could also be the timing is wrong, didd you changed the glow plugs?
Always bay bosch glow plugs or ngk but bosch are preffered.
I hade some brake flued in the dieseltank and itt runs much better now, the problem is with diesel injector clean bottle it can dry out the injectors/dieselpump and then there is less friction in the camber, dieselpump.
What you can do is use diesel injector clean and after that trow in some 2 takts oil.
It should run smooth but hey best is off course clean the injectors while taking it out.
I have seen some treads how to clean injectors also on youtube a peugeot 306.
So good luck and have a nice day.
