either or, makes no odds. probably puts less stress on your release bearing if its while not running, ten just ceck it as you go

Start it up and something went crunch. The tension on clutch pedal has gone! Engine don't want to start. Sad

Could it be something to do with immobiliser?

Erm....how can you have broke anything just changing the cable? Undecided

Hang on, what was wrong with your cable? You sure it wasn't the clutch thats broken? And when you say won't start, what happens, does it crank or just nothing?

Tbh I was told it was the cable. But now I think about it the cable wasn't snapped any where. My mates just rang saying he thinks it might be the thrush bearing.

First time in my whole life I ever attempt to fix my own car instead of my dad! Simple clutch cable change... Start with I jack my car up onto axle stands... Driveway decided to collasp and car was falling. Had to stop the car from falling shout my mum to fetch my neibours to help stable my car and lower it back down.
After a tow from my neibours landy I got it to my uncles garage which has a pit. With a lot of help from a friend I got the cable threaded through. After putting it back together came to start it and crunch. Now I think it could be the thrush bearing.
I'm very pissed off as you could tell.
Then I decide I can't be arse to make anything to eat so I ring up the take away I work at to order a pizza... I get told because I'm having Saturday off for car show... I've now lost my job!!!!!
But one bright side my pizza is costing me nothing Sad.

That's shit mate. Sad yeah I was gonna suggest the thrust bearing! However that won't stop you starting the engine afaik.

Question. Thrust bearing... Does it come in clutch kit or separate? Was thinking if it's the kit then might as well have the whole clutch changed.

Can buy it seperate.....but for all the hassle I'd do the whole kit while the box is off.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. So in that case it's going to be a garage job Sad.

I very much doubt I'd be able to do it then. Looks like ringing garages after work. Sad.

How much will it cost me for a decent clutch that will hold stage 2? And for a standard clutch what makes are good?
Also what's needed for a dturbo clutch?

doing a clutch change is easy in a 306 took me and my mate a day to fit one and we had to wait for my clutch to turn up for a couple of hours.

Going down to the car soon. Because I think my engine had jamed so going to see if the car will roll. If not taking starter motor of see if something has got stuck between there and fly wheel.
Also check my clutch fork if that's loose I know it's thrust bearing. But think back to yesterday I was able to move the fork with my hand before I started the engine. So maybe that could be it.

Please comment your thoughts. I'm
No mechanic so I virtually have no idea always use my dad and don't trust mechanics incase I get ripped of so want to avoid if I can.
