over sized alloys
#1
Hey guys, can you help please.....

I have just aquired a 2001(Y) 306 2.0 Hdi hatchback and the wheels are a bit shoddy, with worn tyres. So rather than just look for tyres for the crappy wheels, I aquired a set of Peugeot alloys 205/65 R15..... these are too big to fit in the arches properly, so I was thinking about reducing the profile to45 or 50 to help with this problem, but then I read that sometimes spacers are required in order to fit oversized wheels properly.....(fried brain at this point...) S O the question is how do I get these wheels to fit the car with what size tyres...? help HELP H E L P please.....

Kindest regards

James

15 alloys are not over sized if I am reading your post correctly.

What alloys are they?

Welcome to the forum Smile Which wheels are they? If you look on the inside of the wheel there should be a stamp saying the ET (offset) of the wheel. If it's higher than 18 then you'll need some spacers.

With the tyres, the correct size for 15 inch alloys is 195/55/15, or if you want cheaper tyres, then 195/50/15 Smile

What is the off set if the new alloys? How wide are they? Got any pics?

i dont know of any standered 15 inch alloy that has a 205/65 size. could be wrong but sounds like someone has put the wrong tyre on and thats why it to big.
standered is 195/55/15 for most i thought.

My 406 steels i got were 205/65, exact fitment for a 306 too.

So could be that the 306 wheels where run on another car with a higher profile.

either way you need the correct tyre size mate. not alot more we can do without at least knowing what wheel it is. pics would be your best bet.
