Airbox issues
#1
Okay was going to attempt to service my car the other day until it started to piss it down just managed to change the air filter upon removing the airbox lid/bottom water started pissing out of it and about 3" up my air filter was absolutely soaked dried the bottom of the airbox and replaced the filter with a nice new one went for a spin and was getting an almost induction sound wondering what was wrong with it so had a friend take a butchers and the airbox lid is screwed it's sucking in shitloads of air and debris now seeing as Peugeot are the only ones that stock the new airbox at £58 + VAT I've decided induction is the only way to go so can SOMEBODY please tell me how they managed to fit their induction kit?

make sure you can actually remove the old one before shelling out for a new air box, mine was rusted solid and required real tools to remove, alternatively fit an open cone filter or even air box from another car, hdi one could fit I reckon higher up and proper enclosed cold air, shouldn't be too hard to adapt/bodge on

I tried to remove my old airbox on my Dtub when I fitted the K&N but the bolts at the bottom were rusted solid despite copious amounts of wd40 and swearing and getting really pissed off with it so I did the only sensible thing and smashed it off with a lump hammer and chisel Big Grin problem solved!!

The sound of running de- filtered was something I loved when I used to run my old mk2 escort and mk1 fiesta supersport. Twin choke webber carbs with a bit of old stocking over the top just to stop debris.... Ahh, the good old days Smile

This is what I'm trying to get people to answer I can't understand where the hell to mount it to be honest my bay where the airbox is looks like a snake that's got hold of a can of something (best way to describe it my mind works funny!) and can't figure out how to attach the open cone/induction kit!!!
