hi, this is my first post so bare with me please, i recently bought a bosch pump off ebay, 11mm head gov mod... but when fitted i went to turn the engine over via crank pully as to test timing. but i hit a snag as it would lock up and jump a tooth after a lot of head scratching i found the new pump was locking up?? i have spoken to the chap i bought it off and its going back this week end, ive worked on these pumps before but only as far as gov mods and pin grinding so am lost as to whats going on? figured id throw it out there see what you guys thought.

Most likely had no diesel in it so just rusted up as its all smooth surfaces in there that don't like fresh air

Sounds like someone cocked it up, somethings binding somewhere / plunger hitting end stop due to bad shim use....

Try rotating the pump by hand now the lid is off and look for anything caught but you may need to take the head off yet!

sent it back guys, got it from a chap in newcastle he had built a few and had himself a quite mad 205, i got a new one off him and now this one wont start so begun building my own, out of interest would a 9mm pump have the capability to fuel a tdo4? im after around 160 bhp also any one else relocated a turbo? im just building a setup with td04 mounted in place of oem airbox?

9mm pump will fuel a td04 no problem. also, relocating a turbo to the oem airbox location would be a bit of a fail, the turbo ideally wants to be as close to the head/exhaust ports as possible....
