Cooling fan

So i found out the hard way that my cooling fans dont work, engine didnt boil over and all seems good at the moment.
The problem is the cooling fans dont work, i tried bridging the thermal switch plug by putting some cable between the two terminals and they still didnt work so i assume the switch is fine. 
This morning i took the cover off to test the relays and was surprised to find only 1-

   

I was assuming there would be 3 relays as ive got 2 fans? If so, where are they?
I tested the relay and it clicked, then tested the resistance and that was low so i think that relay is good.
Whats the best way to test that live and ground going through the circuit? Can i do that by putting a multimeter into the thermal switch plug live and battery negative? 
Sadly im thinking its the fans themselves which have gone so il start having a look for them online Smile

the other 2 relays should be in that box too.

I believe the twin fans were for models with air con. Has the air con been striped out on your car n an attempt made to modify the operation of the fans?

Thanks for the links. Cars a 1998 D Turbo and theres no AC button in the dash so i assume it never had it. I was looking at the haynes and thought the other relays should be in there. Wonder if the previous owner put the wrong replacement fans in the car?
Got some time in a few weeks and i guess il have to remove the fans and have a better check.Not sure when coolant was last replaced so i guess thatl be a good time to do that too lol

dturbo had twin fans on non ac, no need to remove stuff, should be there right in fron of you and yo wont see any more removing them.

Looking again then i think the previous owner tried to make it single speed twin fan. Checking wire colours with the haynes, i think theyve left the low speed relay in but instead of the wire going into the left fan, it goes back into the loom. I think both fans have just been wired up with a live and earth (red and yellow/green) without it going back to the relay. Il have to try and trace back the wiring when i have more time. Was thinking of getting rid of the thermal switch and have a manual switch in the dash, i can get rid of the relay system all together then cant i?

get a twin fan loom from a breaker off a non ac model.
