Guys,How hard is it to replace the AUX belt? The haynes makes it sound like a mission..

The AUX belt is pretty simple. Pop the inner arch liner out, pull the tensioner off so you can get the belt off. Take note of how the belt is fitted like which way it goes round everything. Then put the belt round everything bare the bottom pulley, pull tensioner back and then pop the belt on the last bit.

As per manual but make the "tool" to lock the auto tensioner via the "hole", then its easy, 1/4 drive ( from memory ) rachet etc for the manual tensioner, as per manual.

I used some scrap small dia tube of suitable length flattened at one end and drilled to take a "bolt and nut" that fits inside the autotensioner "hole", works a treat.

the belt fell off... does this mean something is proper wrong..??? The belt is shredded to.. waiting for new belt its in post.

Yes, definitely something wrong. Check all the pulleys on the belt run for play and have a good look at your crank pulley too. There are a lot of vids on youtube showing the noise it makes and how it looks when it needs replacing.

Check the cam belt and its cover, friend had this happen very recently, aa fixed and told her to take to garage, cam belt went 2 miles from garage and car ( 80k miles!! ) was scrapped.

She now knows of this place.
