Fuel Comsumption
#1
After all the help with my car from you absolute legends! its running great!

Replaced my fuel pressure regulator and saw a massive inprovment in fuel consumption and the car doesnt smell of gas all the time.

after doing a long trip noticed that the fuel economy had went down and was wondering if anything could have triggered this change after seeing great results on the first full tank in?

could a oxygen sensor screw with fuel economy?

like always thank you so much for your help,

W

i imagine an 02 sensor would affect the standard ecu and itd deliver fuel differently. Its very difficult to say with what you have provided.

O2 sensor MAP sensor and coolant temp sensor are all that controls the fueling

Sorry i know its not allot to go off so a bit more details:

Car is a 306 1996 mk1 (so it has the engine of the 405mk2). 1.8lt 3dr hatch-

the thing that struck me was it was great for the ammount of kms i was getting on the first full tank and then it went down - its still better but not as good. example - i got a bout 650kms per 50lt first run, then about 550.

so was wondering if anything could have caused it to lower in econnemy after being good....

again sorry for the lack of details,

was it the same route? lots of things could change, air temp, traffic jams etc. Youre right that 100km out per tank over an identical route sounds suspect though. Did the fuel come from the same place?

Tyre pressures okay? Low tyre pressures can reduce fuel economy.
