1.4 meridian lower rad hose
#1
Hi all,

In imediate need of a lower radiator hose part number for a 1.4
don't want to be shafted by peugeot. I ordered a gates one and it turns out it's a completely different shape, need one within a day or two considering the expo is this weekend.

It's the circlip type, when looking down at the engine the pipe is in an e shape.

If anyone could help out that would be amazing, i'm so p****d off right now i've started to lose my passion for the car and this may just be the last straw.

Been googleing all night and can't seem to find anything resembling the pipe i took off, going to have to take it to peugeot in the morning, not looking forward to it, went there today and they wanted £31.99 for 5 rubber mounting bungs for the air con rad as i lost the 2 from the fan cowling!!

Did a quick google and your right, I know what the bottom hoses look like but the one you have is a strange one!

I did find a snippit of a picture from google, showing a hose for a Saxo / Peugeot 106 that looks very similar to yours, but with a longer radiator end and no circlip connector. Kind of on the right track as I imagine Saxo and 106's may share the same parts as your 1.4.

The only thing I can constructively help with is that I do have some new rubber gaskets/seals for the circlip connector that I no longer need as they come in packs of ten.

I couldn't get the circlip off the old pipe so i cut it off and jointed it (can probably see the silicone and jubilees in pic) when i swapped the rad last time, but this time thiught i'd do it all properly to find it's so strange, even that 106/saxo one is shorter where it joins the back of the block, there the only ones i could find.
Taking a trip to peugeot now to see if they can shed any light on it.
It seems my engine is very wierd as it took 7 months to get a gearbox that would fit, as all the ones i tryed had different holes or mounts (1.4 306, 1.6 vtr and the one that fitted a 1.4 206) starting to think something is not quite right after 5 years of ownership!

So just been to Peugeot and they gave me a part number of 1351.CW but i can't find anything online with that number! and the untechnical diagram they had looks like the new hose i got which said 1351.Z1! after i showed him he seems to think something has been modified.

Just been to a Peugeot specialist and they said that it's probably a part that isn't overly required so only Peugeot themselves will be able to order them but i don't want to spend £107.60 to get it on friday to find it doesn't fit 2 days before PFC Expo!! Going to have to joint it like i did last time, but thinking after the show this may now be the end of the road for the car Sad don't want to get rid of it but it's already been off the road for 7 months now.

Just searched on Peugeot Parts and there is no part number for the one Peugeot gave me!
