Alpine 6.5" Speakers w Crossover
#1
Found these lurking in a box in the garage, thought i'd sold them when I sold the HDi. These are Alpine SPR-176A 6.5" with separate tweeters and a crossover box. These are no use to me, but are a cracking set of speakers I wouldn't hesitate to use if i need some. £55 delivered. There is no damage, just some storage marks on the top speaker in the photo.

Hello, in the market for some speakers for my rallye, do you think they'd work on a system that states it can power 4x45W plus do I need an amp or anything?

Hi,

From recollection (been a number of years since I bothered with upgraded ice) but the 45W on your head unit is a peak power figure. You can use these speakers with your head unit and they'll sound better than OE, but to get anywhere near their maximum potential you'll need an amp.

Head units never produce anywhere near the maximum power capability of a decent pair of speakers, it's neither your HU nor these speakers it's just a fact of life. Smile

Ahh I see thank you I feel like it'd be a waste buying speakers like that if I can get away buying slightly cheaper ones only looking to replace the OEM ones as i put a screwdriver throw the foamy bit on the old ones. GLWS though.

I didn't bother with an amp for years, they'll sound better because oe speakers are about 2w lol.

silly question but a possibility, will these fit in the door cards of the front?
Given the choice between Niall and the sheep. I would choose the sheep!
