2003!

2025Kg = Gross vehicle mass (GVM)
3460Kg = Gross train mass (GTM)
1110Kg = Maximum permissible front axle mass
1000Kg = Maximum permissible rear axle mass

3460-2025=1435KG

Trailer+load = Maximum of 1435KG?

the Curb weight is listed as 1,364–1,578 kg engine dependant
the GVM is the filly loaded weight so does that mean i can shift more weight to the trailer so i stay below 3460kg
so effectively I could tow 1882KG

Just because it can...I'm not sure I would want to.

That much mass behind a car with not much mass.... Can see that ending in heartache

306 gti6 book Weight is 1215kg

being realistic even at 1800kg -1215kg = 667KG trailer,Tools and spares, mondeo is not for the job

maybe if the 306 was below 1000kg

I used to drag a mk2 golf track car round with the vectra. Trailer wasn't plated I don't think but was a caravan chassis & stupidly heavy.. Check the suspension unladen, lol.

I'd have thought the Mondeo would be ok. When Dad had his Mk3 ST estate I believe that was 1800kg towing wieght, and the car weighed 1400kg so a 306+trailer isn't massive amounts more, especially if it was stripped.

However, being the estate and the ST version, maybe it had better brakes, something to consider.

mondeo will be fine, my E34 is lighter and also rated at 1800 kg towing weight, ive had a 500kg trailer and a full fat non ac zx 16v behind it perfectly fine.

This is an epic 4x4, not sure about towing weights though... http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/u...060184?v=c . Budget may also be a slight issue.
