Demon tweeks, anyone?
#1
Hey guys just wondering if anyone has had any work done to their car by tweeks, if so did everything go to plan or turn out right?
I think everyone knows the service prices are steep but just wondering about the quality of work.
Cheers

Lmao Ben.
I'm from Wirral which is inbetween Liverpool and northwales kind of. For eibach 30mm, fitting them, lowering torsion bar and wheel allignment 270. Id rather pay big bucks to have peace of mind that its done properly than get it done around mine who will charge more.

I've had experiences with local garages and I wouldn't go to them again, I tried abpmotorsport in Crewe and they quoted me 350 if everything went to plan.
I've been saving for a while for a 306 but my car sold earlier than expected so I have a bit of money left over. All I'm planning to do with this really is lower it and remap it.

Thats alot. Even if you traveled to Kris it would be slightly cheaper.

You are a 500mile round trip from him, so that £80 in diesel.
I think its around £90 for lowering.
Then the cost of Eibach springs? £60

Total £230.

Are they lowering the rear beam correctly by removed the bars and adjusting it?

ask them how they are removing teh torsion bars from the car. If they are smashing the Trailing arms off walk away..

Also have you tried Ricky-RPM for a quote? he's Up north..

30mm drop springs, I just told them what I'm looking for which is a lower ride height but I don't want the ride to be bumpy

Ricky p will supply and fit for 230 but it'll cost 270 in fuel so I think demon tweeks is my best bet for now

KrisB gets my vote, well worth the drive.

Hes probably the most experienced person in the country at lowering torsion bars the right way, has all the right tools and techniques and can give you any rear ride height in 5mm incriments.

Also if your having it apart to lower it id strongly consider new dampers too. you can get bilstein ones off ebay for about £150 front and rear. Had them on my estate and they were awesome. Really OEM feeling but went well with lowering springs.

Ill linky you if you want.

I would but I'm not willing to drive that far I haven't got the patience ha sorry.
This time I'll go to tweeks, I asked them which way they do it and they told me and its not the bash it out way.
I'm just going to go 30mm on eibach, don't want it too low, I've been told its not neccesary to put new shocks on at 30mm so I'll see what the outcome is

30mm will look ODD, do 40mm front and 45mm rear...rear needs ot be lowerer than front for the "stance" to look level...

Cant speak about Krisb work myself but many other members rate him high plus from what ive read he gives you tea and biscuits all day and a "hows your father" when the job is finished to seal the satisfaction in place for customers ninja

I don't think any of those look odd, its personal preference really, I don't want it too low, 30mm is just right for me, I'm going to get the rear lowered to match, I've lowered 2 of my old 106's in the past but this time I want to get professional results

Right, been to demon tweeks today and had the car lowered 30mm all round, the guy who did it was a nice bloke and I watched him for the 2.5 hours I was there for. Eibach springs, fitting, torsion bar adjustment and digital wheel allignment with print out for 270 altogether, couldn't be happier with the service, friendly staff and happy to help whether offering you a cuppa or showing you round the place.

Right on my doorstep too! Handles a lot better and the ride hasn't deteriorated at all. Top marks and money well spent in my eyes.

Good news then. Kris on a good day can lower all around in an hour. Normally 1.5hrs.

Shows how many he has done. Lol.
