Rallye PAS Relocation
#1
So when you fit the throttlebodies you have to relocate the PAS down to where the AC is... On the 1.8 this wasnt an issue apart from i needed a GTI6 PAS pump as the pulley was too big on the 1.8 one and hit the tensioner.

Now that I am relocating the PAS on a rallye the tensioners and routing is different to the extent where I believe ill have to convert to a gti6 tensioner etc. Ive just had brand new rallye aux kit bits fitted so a bit of a pain.

PAS relocation on a 6... (ignore the SC)

so for the rallye i think im going to have to bin off the rallye pulleys and fit the 1.8/6 tensioner so it follows the route below.

Thoughts?

done some more digging and found that the auto tensioner is required.

Ive got the spacers for the PAS mount but for anyone who doesnt you need two of each x2 6453AR x2 6453CJ from Peugeot.
Belt to use Cully says is 6PK1103

ive thought this too.... i presume peugeot didnt go to the extent of making sumps without the ac brackets... you can see in the first photo that the sump still has the AC mounts so its unlikely to have been swapped out. AC was an option in the rallye so makes sense that they would have been left.

If not i have a gti6 sump but the ac mounts are broken so ill have to try and swap it with chambers.

go for a slightly longer belt as its tight on the tensioner
the tensioner needs to move tighter and more loose
ive since changed to 6PK1110ES

to relocate the pas to the lower sump position you will need a conversion kit
the pas pump will not just bolt up to the sump
you will also have to rotate the oil feed into the pump so it points up to the tanknot down to the floor

ditch the pump and use a saxo/106 unit, Youll need a dummy pulley for the sump tho

Why? Isnt the electric unit heavier? Only advantage is it can be turned off.

Saxo unit is better, all round.. les draw overall on the engine, less inertia as well so better revving,

if you use your wanking hand to steer you'll be ok with no PAS

not sure that reads well mate but it should be the same as the 1.8. Im not aware of any rallye specific differences apart from the tensioner!
