Citroen ZX rear shocks
#1
Hello,

I have a Citroen Zx 1.9D from 96 and recently bought some sparco spring's that are -30mm for a 306 gasoline model to lower the car a bit. I used them in the front with normal shocks, the car seems a bit lower then the supposed -30 mm but the drive is feels sharper and stable. On the back the car is with the same height as original because the mechanic said if I lowered the rear axle with those shocks it will scrap the tires, he then stood up on the trailer towbar and the car height looked the same on both ends. Anyone recommends Xsara TA-Technix rear shock's for lowered cars, to make the car height even?

you can lower the axle on standard shocks with no issue at all.

if your beam has camber on the other hand, you may run into issues as the inside of the tyres may touch the inner arch.

Ta technix rear shocks are likely a bag of crap, iirc the later 306 estate shocks are a bit beefier if you're on a budget (could be wrong), else bilstein b4 for cheap or b6 or b8 for beterzzzz

Dont use the TA rear shocks, Although over the years I have had no issues with multiple TA front units, I once fitted a set of TA's to the rear of my car to get thro and MOT before the new ones had arrived, and they were dead before I got the new ones on!!

Yes im on a budget (cheap bastard! Big Grin). The Ta-tecnix are cheaper but I can probably get bilstein b4 for almost the same price. Should i get Bilstein b4 for a 306 or Xsara? Because the xsara is heavier and probably the shocks are harder?

derp, same part number as the 306.

They'll be ok if the updated larger bodied type.
