Key Fob not working.

So bought the Meridian. Guy said the fob probably needed a new battery. Popped one in and tried the sync (it's an RF 2 button). But no joy.
It's not a huge issue but would be good to suss it. Anyone have any pearls of wisdom?

1.Switch off the ignition
2. Switch on the ignition 3. Immediately after switching on the ignition, press & hold the large remote button |
