D'Turbo Project

So bought a Phase 2 Dturbo about 6 months back as a project and it got put on hold until now. 

The bodywork isnt great but i want to spray it anyway and its in need of a new engine, but it is clean underneath. Basically no rust(small bits of surface rust).

So the plans over the next while are:
Sort out body and a respray( probly be the last to get done)
Replace engine with a good 1.

Turn into a carvan.

And the parts i have in stock for the build:
2 engines
2 bosch pumps
t2 and k14 turbos.
Front mount and all pipework.
HDI Rods
MLS Head gasket.
ProSport boost gauge.
60mm lowering springs or ta coilovers.

Started rippin the other day and so far have 1 engine dismantled to see what condition its in. Seems good but there are cracks in the precups on the head.

None of the pictures are working. If there are cracked precups then the head is scrap really.

They can have little cracks in thats usual. Its when they get big and take the head out. Not that i have any experience in precups killing heads......... ......

Seem to be working fine now, perhaps it was my end with the problem. Now i can see the pics i still reckon that's past it.

Yeah i had that feeling. Ill strip my other engine down 2moro and compare heads, hopefully the other one is in better condition.

Was out doin some more engine work 2day. Got 2 pistons cleaned up and fitted the hdi rods to them.

another bit of an update.

Got the head all cleaned up, just waiting on a valve spring compressor to get valves out and replace valve stems.

   

How the block looks now

   

Stripped down the bosch pump to reseal. Can any1 point me in the direction of a good brand seals kit as the one i have is a cheapo ebay and heard theyre shit.

Thats all for now. waiting on valve compressor and piston ring compressor to get it put back together.

I think i bought a genuine bosch seal kit for one of these for about £15 from the local diesel specialist.
