Immobiliser
#1
Hi all.
Here I go again. I am still struggling with start problem.  Car will start ok in morning, run for a few miles and stop/switch off for5 mins or so.  The motor will not start unless I switch off again and restart which is ok for now.   My question is why it will start on second turn?   I have noticed that if I don't hear the lift pump kick in it will not start, hence second turn of key.   Surely this is a immobiliser problem.      I have fitted a new lift pump, so no probs there.
If immobiliser how can I by pass it or have it reset/repaired?  Doh

Take a look at the fault codes with something like PP2000 - that'll tell you if the immobiliser is playing silly sods.

I can't remember on a HDi if the lift pump will run with the ECU locked - I know on a GTi-6 it does though.

Might be worth checking/replacing the injection relay if there is no immobiliser faults logged, as that can cause similar issues.
