make sure the volts are stable and bin the adjustable fpr.

get it mapped.

you realise it has been mapped? this isnt still the base map i had ages ago. The adjustable FPR is up to 4 bar so i cant just swap in my spare as I havent got the kit to set it up

yes, but sounds like the map needs more work, especially as you've changed loads of stuff

all you need is a screwdriver to swap the fpr, there's no 'setting up'
need a part number? http://public.servicebox.peugeot.com/ and http://service.citroen.com/ will sort you out.

i havent changed anything since the map apart from sparks.

so i have another one but i have no idea what it runs at. If my adjustable one is set to 4 bar and the replacement is 3 then the map is bound to be out. i thought you put a pressure gauge in the fuel lines so you could see what you were setting it to?

you've changed the throttle sensor haven't you?

use a 4 bar fixed pressure regulator, with fixed regulators, there's no cocking about with gauges, its 3 bar, 4 bar, whatever is stamped on the regulator.

VW group use a 4 bar reg on loads of things.

I havent read the entire thread...

Your in tank pump keeping up well enough? I had a similar issue on a 106gti with bodies and it was eventually narrowed down to the in tank sender unit having an intermittent issue!

Upgraded it last weekend to a walbro 255. Problem was there before and problem was there after!

Have you done the tps? You come back to it repeatedly in your diagnosis, but no mention of actually fitting the new one..?

Yes it's fitted. Currently half way through the track day and it's going well!

This thing is ace, had a passenger ride out in it and was way less annoying than I thought it was gonna be with a cage n bodies. Goes extremely well and is quiet and comfortable.

"Quiet and Comfortable" may be a bit of an overstatement. Just need to get that passenger seat mounted lower so you tall folk can fit properly! If I take out the runners and 5 door frames should be able to get it an at least an inch lower.

Yeah the seat height was a massive issue for me, and it's loads quieter than I anticipated

Ive been annoyed recently at the suspension bottoming out. Driving isnt fun when youre constantly looking for pot holes and then smashing the car as a result. I dont really know how the car is meant to feel and I dont want to have to worry about setting them up etc. So ive gone for a tried and tested setup of bilstein B8s with eibach springs. I hope that it will sit right otherwise ill have to upgrade to the sportline springs wihch are meant to be lower. I hope that this will be fit and forget!

Bilstein B8 (FL) - 22-247308 - £225.97
Bilstein B8 (FR) - 22-247315 - ^^^^^
Eibach Pro Kit   - E7011-120 - £88.28

Front Setup Total - £314.25 (not bad i feel)

Ive had my sparco harnesses for over three years now and although they are in fantastic condition they arent suitable for mounting to he harness bar on my cage. Ive simply put it over the bar and to the floor which is less spine crushing but not ideal especially if things are moving about in the back.

I was looking for some fat 3" harnesses with a push style clip as im fairly sure thats needed for MOT however I couldnt find any push fitting harnesses that would fit a roll bar. I found a 3" 4 point omp set but knew that puglove had got 6 points and dropped the lower straps. I looked up the 6 points and they were £10 cheaper so bought those and will remove the lower straps.

OMP 802 3" Saloon Harness in black - DA802F - £143.94 (x2)

Mostly bought through demon tweeks on ebay. Even with the EBAY7 discount code its still cheaper on ebay as postage is free. Now to find the right set of eibach rears as discussed here...

http://306oc.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?tid=35368

Should keep me occupied over christmas at least and should make the car a whole lot more reliable and useable!

Harnesses- personally id consider 5/6 points reason being it stops the lap belts submarining up your lap. Just remember to have a strengthening plate added on the inside and a spreader plate on the outside. Ive got a set of RSA 6 points brilliant quality and comes with 6 eye bolts should they be needed.

already got 3 points in there. The outside is into the normal seat belt mount. The inside attaches to the subframes. Ive got a right concoction of OMP 3 door mounts with sliders and then OMP 5 door mounts ontop of that. Means my seat is at the right height but for anyone tall as a passenger they are in roll bar territory. Next time the car goes to chambers Ill ask to get some eye bolts mounted on the inside. Ive got all the eye bolts and Ive bought 6 extra spreader plates so I can do everything and fit 6 points if I choose.

For the lower belt of the 6 points is it enough to bolt to the omp 3 door frames or do i need to go properly through the floor?

Yep its always on the cards just havent seen any deals recently. Ill have to seen if Jordan can get this group buy sorted. I need to be saving but everyone needs a diff right? Ill get the diff and my lightened fly done at the same time. In terms of restoration I want to get the engine bay and front arches all sorted out. Got a quote and now is the ideal time over winter to send it away for the work as I really dont want to do it myself on a gravel drive. Itll likely all get done at the same time.

Also Ive had all the stuff to do a good service on it for a while now. The sparks have been changed but I need to clean the bodies filter and replace the oil, oil filter and fuel filter.

always go to the floor, if the seat mounts break youre f*cked if the belts are on the seat.

centre straps should go straight down, not back or forwards.

if your shoulder straps are long enough to reach the floor you can wrap them around the harness bar instead.

Yep time to do things properly I reckon. Thanks for the centre strap advice. Looked at diagrams and saw similar. the current three points are long enough for the floor but id rather have four points and not have to cut the belts as the ends are stitched. Any idea of the push vs rotating style buckle when it comes to MOT?

its just the stitching you need to undo, its very common to need to remove a fixed buckle for the rear straps if you bought the wrong type.

if you mean aircraft style twist to release rather than the push button then always go for the proper twist, its much safer, you wont find a push button in any competition car, any decent harness will be E marked so will pass an MOT fine (if your tester isn't a dick)

I'd always go 5/6 point btw.

Thats a really good price for those B8's and Eibach springs, where did you get them from so cheap?
Reply
Thanks given by:
Both Fia and E marked harness' are road legal and will pass an MoT

Fia = twist release

E = Push button release

I think there are only 2 or 3 harness' that have both

Yeah I undid stiching on mine to remove the latch thingy which looked like cheese and wrap round the bar. I run seatbelt style release but much rather a twist type

All just on eBay. Checked part numbers out etc and then found the deals. Springs were 30 cheaper buying from a German seller on eBay. Hopefully they will be okay as the part number is the same.

Yeah check german ebay. Often a good 20-30% cheaper for eibach and bilstein even unc delivery

Just bought some febi-bilstein top mounts for £62. That includes the washers and nut. Now I dont have to take the old shocks apart! I couldn find the shock mount on ECP or GSF, turns out they dont come up under my plate but they do under a hdi. Still cheaper to get these and quality should be the same. Not SKF but saved about £30 on ecp!

Should be delivered between 29th and 5th of Jan so hopefully its the earlier of those and I can get them all fitted before going back to work!

Just bought one of these sparco steering wheel buttons. Ill need it to trigger launch control. Still trying to work out how the omex does it. Manual says it just does it when the button is held. Other places suggest there may be a latching function so its armed with the steering wheel button and then uses a clutch switch to know when to turn it off. Either way... more race car things to play with.

[Image: steeringwheels_accessories_pushbutton1_015ne981.jpg]

Not sure how to run the wire to the button. I imagine ill coil it up around a rod to make it springy and then wrap it around the boss once. That way itll unwind one way and stretch the other.

dont bother waste of time, its not launch control its ALS or anti lag, tbh if you cant pull away using your right foot well then.....

it needs two wheel speed inputs, one for driven one undriven, its just a rev limiter so nothing sophisticated at all.

The ones "launch control" is no use really as launch control. It is however fun especially if you have a cat you want to hollow out!

It's non latching but from memory you can set it so it latches and automatically disables at a preset point defined by speed or time from memory.
