NOW £750!!! 1998 306 Cabby COSMOS GREY QUICK SALE FRESH T&T
#1
Fresh 12 Months MoT
Fresh 6 Months tax

1998 Cabriolet in Astor Grey, an incredibly rare colour and in manual.

2.0 XSI 16v Engine producing 140BHP... (detuned GTI-6 engine)
40mpg on motorway
GTI styling all round as standard
94k on the clock
Cambelt done at 68k
Stamped service book until 66k
Lots of reciepts for work undertaken both recent and late.
All paintwork is original
Power steering, electric windows all round, electric mirrors, rear screen heater blower.
Exhaust shows it was recently changed
XSI Wheels, new rear tyres (nexens) and half wear on the fronts (Pirelli P6000s)
Cloth interior all in good nick barring a cig burn hole as pictured
Wood veneered center console and optional ally dial surround
Ive just put a 2000 model steering wheel on it as the old one was a bit cruddy.
New roof lining installed at some point, clues spotted due to a non creased rear window and white stitching on the lining.

Drives very nice, clutch is strong, gearbox is nice and tight, throttle is responsive and the engine revs freely with no suspicious noises. Brakes are very responsive and bite hard and has no sticky calipers which are common.

Bad points:

Some age related marks around the body, all can be seen in the pictures but deffo not rot or rust as Peugeots are always a rust free zone whatever the age.

The roof operates fine but you need an extra set of hands to give the tail end of the roof a lift for it to carry on with its operation on its own.

Locking is operated manually via key to the door

Stereo fuse pulled as it need resetting (who uses a cassette anyway) and the ariel is faulty and made a horrible whirring noise.

Only advisorys was the front brake hoses are slightly perished and rear pads wearing thin. Ill have these done prior to a definate sale.

A fantastic car all round, ive been driving it for a week every day and its great to drive. We've no need for it as we've just bought an HDI.

£1150 ono... Ill have it on ebay later on for £1350

Cheers

Possibly the most pic-heavy for sale thread I've ever seen! lol Not that it's a bad thing....

I really want this, just don't have the money. Good luck with the sale, I'm sure someone will have your hand off!

Cheers for the feedback people... Im probably wrong about the colour. If someone can confirm that would be great.

If you know the colour code (on the white sticker by n/s suspension strut) I can tell you the proper colour Smile

I am based in Dartford, Kent... If you know someone mate then thats real handy for me!

Truth is I bought the car to make myself a few quid as I have a rugrat on the way so its all for a good cause as I know im gonna struggle a bit. Im a pug enthusiast so I know quite a bit about them. The grey cabby had no MoT when I bought it. I gave it a full valet inside and out and changed a few bits. Its a bit of a hobby for me, buy a car, get the excitment of sprucing it up, fix what needs fixing and sell it on. The blue cabby above was bought with intention to keep but the novelty soon wore off.

That's cosmos alright, and the second is moonstone. Pretty sure that second interior's rare too. Something else to put on the ad. Smile

Definitely Cosmos, not Astor. I think £1150 is a good starting price, with a view to being knocked down to a grand. £1350 is too much I reckon. Good luck with the sale!

It drives real nice... No mechanical faults, a tad of exhaust vibration underneath under hard cornering but thats it. Happened ever since i rejigged the tail box. Engine is very pokey so its not had a hard life.
