Have the fans out of my dturbo atm and was wondering if it was worth putting them back in?
Anyone run without fans?

Yeah i never seen a need for mine, never sit in traffic or leave the car on idle for any length of time..

My fans on my hdi dont work but it rarely overheats except in standstill traffic in hot weather so i just let the heat escape through the vents.
I do plan on getting a slimline fan to replace them with come summertime though

my fans have not worked for a year and half now, only touched 90 on a handful of occasions and that took a while in traffic

Same here, no fans, not had for ages and it never gets hot unless its sat in traffic in hot weather for a long while or if your ragging the arse off it!
I do have a slimline fan............................ its just in my workshop in the pile of stuff to fit and has been for a while ![]()

That's good news for me then, this month's going to be tight on the wages so if I can save £40 for now that's ideal!

I need one on the 205 as it will creep up in traffic very slowly as the rads alot smaller but I have a slim line fan due to the IC, wired to an in-dash switch, I get to paranoid about overheating.
The one time the original fans came on actually cut up the original rad due to 20 years of shite built up ![]()

I took mine out when I changed the rad and like Mark I have a slim line waiting to fit but havnt got round to it.
The temp only creeps up in standstill traffic so I just bung the heaters on full to draw the heat off the matrix instead. Also as a bonus without the fans in airflow to the rad is spot on. |
