What an earth is this
#1
So I'm moving my radio to the bottom console bit to make room for the gauges I'm putting in come April time. And I come across this little box plugged in at the bottom under the cigarette lighter. So naturally I unplug it and try everything in my car. It still all works. So what an earth is it!

Was it the control module for column controls for the stereo.

That's the transponder unit for the key chip on the IR systems which have a separate Alarm & CL control unit elsewhere, RF system has an integrated Alarm ECU & transponder unit which is the one with two plugs that people mistakenly call a BSI.

Got home and googled it. As you do. Apparently it is an immobiliser unit. Saying That it could make sense about being the key blip as its the only thing my car doesn't have.
