Diablo 106 GTi - Suffolk - £1200 ONO
#1
Hi guys,

Not mine but owned by a mate (in fact the same guy that bought my diablo 106 NAD back in 2012).  Tbh I really want it and had thought about it after the '6 but can't justify it lol.  Its currently SORN and is located in Suffolk not far from Ipswich, he's quite keen to sell it as needing space.

2001 51 plate 106 GTi, 1.6 16v 3dr
126k
Bodywork is in good order apart from a few marks expected on a car this age
Interior is in great condition
Mods - Pugsport exhaust up to the manifold, lowered slightly but not stupidly low, black vtr wheels with plenty of tread on the tyres
8 months mot

£1200 ONO

If interested PM me and I'll pass on contact details, or he is also on 106oc if you're over there.

Cheers
Tom

I really love these, but the possibility of being in one in a crash puts me off! Not that a 306 would be much better i guess lol

Old Peugeots are all about as solid as tin foil in a crash... lol Only difference is you have more bonnet to get through in a 306.

Yeah i know lol i'm genuinely comtemplating getting something newer as a daily for that reason, especially as i have a wife and 2 brats. If it was just me, i couldn't care less.

I'd love a 106 as a daily, every time I get in my track car I just want to drive it everywhere haha. Swap for a black DT? Haha

Pah, it's all relative. For example, drive a 205 (or Procta's Metro) and by comparison a 306 feels like it's built like a tank lol

A late 106 isn't that bad from a safety point of view. Sure, I'd not like to hit a tree or something heavy like a 4x4 head on in one, but it's got some modern safety features in it and was designed with at least some vague thought to crash safety. To give you some idea, my other half hit armco at 70mph in her 106 (and a couple of years later rolled a Saxo at 40mph+) and she's still here to tell the tale.

Unsurprisingly with that sort of track record though in French hatches, I don't tend to let her drive my 205...

This. And for its time and sector it fits in to, the 306 was actually a very safe car. Not compared to modern standards obviously but you need to remember its now a minimum of 12 years old!!

But that's exactly the point isn't it.... As most cars on the road are a lot newer, the chance of hitting those and coming off badly is a lot higher than when 306s were new.... It doesn't matter how good they were new (though even then they weren't the best lol) but what matters now is how they'd stand up to impacts in todays traffic.

Lol, just being honest, I wouldn't want a 106 as a family car...other people are free to make their own decisions and opinions, they don't have to agree with mine. lol
