So I've finished my fmic next thing to do is turn up boost just wanted to know if it would be alright to drive round for abit with the boost turned up with out a remap I know the car won't benefit from turning the boost up without a map but will it be safe to drive and not damage any thing eg pinging pistons and so on

If you have a manual boost controller fitted just have it turned down for now

That's what I was thinking I got one on my rst cabriolet so I'll just use that one plus saves a lot of hassle trying to fiddle with the actuator
