Ben Jay Wrote:Right im in a pickle

i need my car for monday which gives only tomorrow to finish it.

I can get the fricking aux belt on and the cold start cable is a bit f*cked.

Can any one come and give me a hand tomorrow?

i know it sounds silly but are you sure you're routing the aux belt right? should be easy to get on if tensioner is undone

Does leaving the cold start cable off affect things THAT much when cold?

My god. That belt diagram, reminds me of doing my auto/spring tensioner aux belt. So annoying.

no, it just means you have to put your foot on the throttle a little bit when its cold since that is all it does anyway, pull on the leverset in the pump lol

Put the crank pulley bolt, (if you hadn't already) put a ratchet on it and slowly turn the engine over by hand while doing so you can carefully walk the belt on with a screwdriver, once its on add appropriate tension and tighten the tensioner up Smile

You're struggling to finish your aux belt with "only" a day before you need the car...? :|

That said, think there might be a problem with the info that motor-factors get on these engines as i had the same problem when i changed my aux belt, tighter than a nun's chuff.

Theres a few different belts, if its tight as fook you have the wrong one, its only like 6mm shorter or something but makes all the difference... if you try running it on all you will do is fook the tensioner bearings / alt or pas etc....get the right belt if its like that....
