Age more than likely. Most wont give it to you until you are 25

The 6 was a higher engine?? How much did you pay for the gti6 insurance and was that with 1 yrs no claim bonus? I looked yesterday and for my hdi they wanted £2150 was the cheapest with 1 yrs no claim..

its only the suspension that is modified, without miss it's still £260 so it hasn't changed it massively I'm still paying a stupid amount, my 1.4 was £230 so it hasn't changed much

& colour-coded interior, and a different steering wheel with no airbag, and an aftermarket head unit, and different-coloured wheels, and carbon-wrapping, and you're fitting a boost gauge, still got the aftermarket filter?

I'm not trying to be a dick at all, but if you are in an accident the insurers will try not to pay out if they notice these, and your insurance in the future won't come down, which would suck.

I'm only 22, I spent my first year driving a 1.1 8v 106 and didn't modify it, and stayed out of trouble and the next year I could insure a gti-6 for less. If it is any consolation, the car is looking good and the quality of the white painting on the interior bits looks good!

How can you have a different NCB on two policies for yourself?!

Surely a combo policy be cheaper for you mate as they take into consideration that you cant be driving both at the same time?!

When I got my first car I'd already had a foreign license for a year which gave me no no claims bonus but did make it cheaper than just passing my test. Got the 106 when I was 20, then at 21 got a gti-6 and paid 1200 to insure it for a year with 1 year's ncb, then the next year paid 800 to insure a gti6 with 2 years ncb and being 22, and soon I'll be 23 with 3 years so hoping for a further reduction!

It's all about getting those first 1 or 2 years under your belt.

Problem with being so young/new to driving is the companies that insure most of us for modded cars won't look at you til you're a certain age/have at least 1 years NCB.

£300 on the E34 525 TDS, no ncb, as that was all on the 205 gti which was also £300, will have 9 years on one policy and 1 year on the second by the end of the year.

Only passed me test 22nd of July so I've got zero no claims I did it via confused.com and on a 10,000 policy with me dad as a named driver and yep I read the full terms and conditions it says the box monitors all aspects of driving but your monthly premiums will always be the same as when u first brought the policy no matter how u
drive

Because iv had 2 policies for a few years. Even when i had multi car insurence it was still 2 policies each with its own set of NCBs & both of them are with adrian flux now and they do take into consideration that i cant drive both ..... But kerry is on both so they actually could both be driven at the same time
