I'm intrigued. What do these actually go like? Quick than a GTi-6?

Quite a bit quicker, but generally a bit less composed in the corners. Decent car if the conversion was done well.

This. These V6 engines are lovely but are weighty and they don't sit at 30 degrees like the standard XU in the 306 which makes a fair old detrimental change to the handling!

It makes gti-6 peak torque at 1500(ish)rpm... ![lmao lmao](https://www.306oc.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/legacy/lmao.gif)
So yes it is only 190bhp but it pulls much better at lower revs which makes it a faster road car in practice.
Would really like this...

It's an ally block, so with all ancillaries it's only marginally heavier.

The issue is more the way the weight is distributed around the engine bay than the actual weight of the thing.
But then its not alot different to DT owners with massive IC's hanging over the front end and blowers sat on the gearbox etcetc.

The engine isn't much heavier but things like the gearbox and anicilliaries are all heavier, plus the centre of mass of it isn't in as good a place, you can't mount it right at the back of the bay at an angle like the gti-6 engine.

Everyone harps on about the weight and yes, it's not great...
But the GTi6 is hardly a light engine to begin with... An XUD9 is like 40kg lighter from the outset... Have you ever heard anyone whinging how an XUD makes the car so horrible...
Yes it'll probably make it a teensy bit duller at the front end, but it's hardly the end of the world.
It's the placement that makes the dfference - I can guarantee most people here wouldn't really notice it...

Have you ever stepped out of an XS and got into a XSI/GTi? The handling characteristics are shockingly different. After swapping all my componentry from the XS, to the XSI, i nearly stained the seats in fear for a few days whilst getting used to the car. Thats just with a weight gain, not with a shift of weight position too.
Anyhow, sorry to hijack the sale thread, I'm sure the OP doesn't want this debate going on in their sale thread.

Let's all agree that it pulls really well!
If I had the money and space and didn't already have a diablo ph.1 I'd be all over this.
