At the moment I'll be happy just to get it running as its been so long already!

No idea it came to me with a 1.8 td fitted and before that it had a 1.8 na diesel,  iv been told that it was a gti at one point but how many engines and reshells ago that was I'm not sure ha ha. kinda given up finding out not that I'm too bothered as its going to be pretty far from a OEM genuine anyway.

We'll and truly f****d I watched it get crushed and have seen the cube of what it used to be engine finally died going from the weigh bridge to the bit where you can take off what you want,  spat a rod unfortunately no pictures did get 60 quid for it though

Wasn't worth it as nearly every suspension component was shot the gearbox refused to go in 3rd half the time and after its visit to the ford the wiper, heaters, headlights and hazord lights were stuck on so looked a right prat going down the road

Oh and the insides stank of river

Not much of an update really but started clearing out my workshop so should be able to get to the compressor properly which means I can get on and paint all the plastics

Once all the body work is done I'm going to fit the engine,  only reason I haven't already is because as soon as its in and running I'll be more interested in tuning it up than doing the body work so it will end up never getting done and I've been rediclulously busy with work

Can't remember if I said wheels are off now also ready to go to the powder coaters - going OEM silver ( call me boring but Im trying to keep it looking fairly standard-ish)

Almost forgot pic of the new daily loaded up with last year's cardboard boxes - I did get some funny looks

Found this whilst having a tidy up,  toying with the idea that I could use it to inject extra fuel of and when it's needed,  as you can create a map across the rev range and choose at what point to add fuel it also has boost compsator in the form of a pressure switch that can be swapped for a MAF sensor for more accuracy.

What's your thoughts guys?

Stripping wheels ready for powder coating

Industrial paint stripper off eBay is the one, stinks and burns if you get it on your hands but much better than the new nitromores which doesn't do anything to the paint.

How would you actually go about injecting the extra fuel?

have you melted the centre cap? as that stuff can be deadly to plastic.

Not to sure yet to be completely honest one way is the injectors get tapped into the inlet as was done on my 106 but it's far from ideal

And procta didn't seem to affect the plastic at all I only left it on there for half and hour before I jet washed it all off though

It also requires a lift or inline pump to supply the fuel

where did you get the friction plate?

Does it suit the 1.8 box or the 1.9 box?

He bought it off me and I got it from cg motorsport

It will only fit flywheels that support 215mm clutches eg gti6 and 1.9dturbo
The gearbox has nothing to do with it

Wheels are at the powder coaters now and will be for a little bit as I know the guy so he does them cheap but in his spare time,  seams to be evil to paint but not interested in plastic or Ally the photo was after 15 min I left it on for a hour then just jet washed and it was down to metal. Be a week or two until there done.

As Paul says on the clutch, all to do with the flywheel and pressure plate thanks for pointing me in the right direction with all that...

Painted the gearbox (got a spare reverse sensor to swap)

(that photo is from half way through but you get the idea,  it's blue)

So got a bit of spare time this morning and bolted the gearbox on

Annoyingly the turbo only has a few mm clearance so I'll have to cut the pipe I welded up and adjust it but I'll wait till its in the car to make sure it doesn't hit anythingA

Need some injectors now really, next on the list to do is finish gloss blacking the plastics, have the fuel tank off and clean it out running 10mm fuel lines at the same time, sort the dash out, replace the pedal box for gti one, and loads more really too much to list...

Realized i forgot to put up the pics of the rust removal and welding from before it got sprayed

So here something to look at whilst its to cold to go do anything

couldn't find the rest of the photos but basically there was a big hole in the passenger inner wind and wheel arch/passenger floor and that rotten bit that was cut out

As you can see filler went over the top of the weld on the inner wing just to keep the engine bay neat

Hoping there's no more when i take the fuel tank off :S

Why didn't you get yourself a welder and learn a skill for that kinda money ? Nice to know its all done professionally though.

Thanks mate, its slowly getting there. Yeah I'm hoping that the blue and silver will go well with the red and not look too multicolored.

Got round to fitting the pedal box yet?
It would be worth checking if you've got rear brake compensators if it originally was a diesel, as they come with built in compensators on the rear brake cylinders

So theyll be going on at some point.

Awaiting abuse for buying cheapy coilovers ...  I'v Ran some of these before though (never on a 205) and yeah not great but never had any issues other than the springs usually being rock hard so I change them for ones with a lower spring rate
