Hi
Is it possible to remove the engine without disturbing the Aircon by unbolting the compressor from the engine and tucking it out the way - i.e is there room if the engine will be coming out the top.

the air con pump is fairly hefty... if you remove the aux belt and unbolted it etc i cant see why you couldnt get the engine out without disturbing it.

Yes it will come out the top so much easier just to disconnect it and get it re gassed

yes you can i sugest removing the rad so you can move the compressor onto the front crossmember as it is on flexy pipes
be carful though as the aircon rad will still be in place
