Replace temporarily while you refurb (you don't really know how long the other one will last) then sell the temporary one.

How much is the refurb kit? An how much effort and dollar is needed?

Been thinking of doing this my self. But don't want to buy a refurbed one.

It's not cheap...I'm doing a 6 beam and the seals etc is around £80-£90, then you have the shafts and bearings, another £175. If the disc guards are fubared they're another £14 each.

Getting the bearings out is fun.....I knocked up a special tool to do this which will also help when re-fitting the inner race of bearings.

^^ Someone saw you coming lol

All seals bearings screws, washers etc - £90 - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Peugeot-205-3 ... 3652wt_762

which should be all you need providing the stub axle's are OK,
if they need changing then you could get this kit and keep you washers etc..........

2 x Stub Axle's, bearings, seals - £175 - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/REAR-BEAM-AXL ... 2917wt_982

You can find those in most of my posts around 7:30 and 9 in the morning lol

I was wondering where you got them that was so expensive lol it makes sense now!

You should only really need the stub axles if your bearings have been gone for a while and worn the stub axles oval, I have a couple lying around, might have to have a bash at re-building one Smile

I know what you mean mate, I'm never 100% with it until mid-morning!

When I stripped my beam down one of the shafts didn't exactly look it's best so I thought, what the hell, replace everything.

Last thing I would have wanted was to re-use them and hope for the best and then the beam fails...

My thoughts exactly Mark, no point in cutting corners....the car's a keeper so it's got to be right.
