1) Fit a bosch pump
2) do a mild stage1 tune
3) run on veg oil for 50-75% of the cost of diesel

Is there a way without veg oil, just using pump diesel, I figure that the amazing increase in power by relatively small adjustments to fuelling boost etc to the XUD9TE would suggest that economy (though not a popular thread) could also be tweaked in some way, I am a full on newbie mind!

Its known that a stg1 tune will improve economy.

You could reduce fueling a bit...but you may find the need to boost more to get going!!

GT15 or newer if you can.
VE pump.
Tweak Injection quantity a little for improved torque.
Play with timing until best results are achieved.

Went from the original T2/K14 and ~45mpg to a GT15 which gave low 50s to the GT20v and instantly was up to 58mpg on a run - amazing the efficiency gains from modern turbochargers.

I'd be interested in an economy setup too doing 100+ miles a day to work and back.

Are the GT15/GT20v direct fits ?

What Ruan said, aside from making sure your running a bosch pump with good injectors / timing, the best thing that will effect your MPG is the turbo....

You wouldnt believe how far turbo technology has come fowards since the old T series....They can move air so efficiently now its unreal...

My car is on a T plate, so does that mean I might have the GT15 already ?

Just need to sort out a Bosch pump setup now...

for infinite mpg, leave your car at home and walk or cycle
Given the choice between Niall and the sheep. I would choose the sheep!
