Central locking advise
#1
Hi all.
I have a 2001 estate 1.9 D.
Neither keys are working.
I have changed the battery but still nothing. Buttons seem to work ok.
I bought the car a month ago and I'l still getting around to the various jobs.

I can confirm the central locks are working - I can hear deadbolts when I turn the key in either the driver or passenger side from doors.
The rear boot lid doesn't work the deadbolts (I just hear the slow motor sound when I turn the key in the rear hatch).

So can you advise what I check next? As the deadbolts are working that kinda rules out fuses - or does it? I was unable to find any blown fuses on the board under the steering wheel.

I know the types of key and equipment moved around over the years - my keys have two button - one big one small, with the key ring loop just behind the smaller button.

Is there a way I can check if the keys are working - is this a dealer job?
Thanks,
Clayton

There is a tool you can get which picks up the radio frequency of the key fob, I have one, My guess is its the receiver unit under the center console. Only way I know how to sort that out is to replace the whole unit
