S16 not sparking and few elec issues :(
#1
Hi kids n cats,

well my S16 is giving me headaches again, brought it, it had a stuck valve, reconditioned the head, I've put it all back together and its not sparking...!

The battery has been disconnected for probably 2months now,
The 'crash' fuel cut off button isnt tripped,
The car fuels, (i can smell it when we turn it over with sparks out)
The keypad immobiliser is happy with the old code and shows the green light
The two engine bay multi plugs seems to look good

Today I'm going to go through every plug I can see and clean them up but does any one have any ideas what it could be?

Also on a separate electrical issue that were a problem before I took it all apart, the rev counter & oil pressure gauge don't seem to be working, but the rest of the dials are working? I'm going to take it out and check the plugs on the dials, but again anybody have any ideas?

I'm from just outside cambridge, so if any one knows anybody with some diagnostic software or who could just fix it that'd be great Tongue

Austin

Also forgot to add, the front fogs and cigarette lighter aren't working, any common issues?
(going to investigate these better when its running again but thought i'd ask at the same time)

I'm not to far from you just the otherside of kings lynn lol.

Check the brown plug behind the battery box it can sometimes cause starting issues. Also you say it takes the old code when your turning it over does the engine light flash on and off?? If it does it means it's still imobilised

I'll get a video a bit later, but in car does exactly the same as before,

Key in, 'normal lights', enter code, green, turns over, no flashing lights and no spark

Just checked the brown box, looks fine but I'll clean up the contacts just encase

Hmm Wat about the plug for the coilpack loom make sure that's all plugged in correctly as they can be a bit of a nightmare. Had that with my s16 once before

How can you tell if it's in correctly? That's what I think it is, but it looks like it's all plugged up fine...

Just put the battery back in, with ign. on M, turn off and the immobiliser just beeped at me (I think 3 times)
Never had that before? Is that normal?

Tbh I can't remember my ecu doesn't have an immobiliser so I don't have that problem :-P. I do know that it is the ecu that holds the code ate you using the same code.it has always been

I believe so, I'm using the code I brought the car with & it started on that when I brought it haha

Do you know of anyone with diagnostics round here? Or a pug specialist? Going to call my local and see if I can take it to them later haha looks like I'll have to part with some of the queens finest :'(

I know someone with pp2000 I don't know if that brings up fault codes but I'll message him. Dr jekyll on here he's from Fakenham. I don't think you will need to take it to peugeot though will just be something stupid. Where are you from if your not to far away I can possibly bring my ecu up as it's not imobilised and go from there

Yeah, def not going to peugeot made that mistake once haha £60 for a plug I'd forgotten to plug in on my 1.4 lol!
Oh sweet, I've got my sisters wedding this week so I'll try to get it in my local, but if I haven't had much luck it'd be handy to get you and your ECU over next week

I've noticed the ABS sensor light on when it turns over? never had a 306 with abs yet so don't know if that normal, i wouldn't expect that to stop it starting?

(got to call car work a night for today, got wedding marquees to put up Sad )
