T25 turbo into T2 housing?
#1
So had a quick look at the other zx and it looks like its running a T2

Is there any chance I can wedge the T25 I have into the T2 housing and save hassle of adaptor plates / oil lines?

I'd have a play, but the T25 is elsewhere atm.

Ta and thanks

You can if you get the housing reamed out...but ovviously wont fit without reaming it...

And theres more to it than just reaming it in lathe until it "fits" generally if you do that, it will just constantly melt / blow up turbos, its important to get the correct ammount of the "front" of the housing for flow.

Much easier to just bolt one up complete imo...or weld etc...td04 / GT series be better tho Wink

Td04 does seem to boost up quicker Smile

hmmm, reaming isn't my thing tbh, was hoping for some plug and play.

td04? gt? Guess I should have done a bit more research before buying a T25. Something to think about in the future then.

Got the T2 off anyway, and looks ok, no play >

Nope, just looked at it so far. Looked at it real good.

Need to make a plan of action either with somebody who can weld cast, or someone with a laser cutter for making some adaptor plates.

If you have a welder, anyone can weld cast to the extent thats needed for these old machines Big Grin

How do the lines match up from a T2 to T25?

You have to bend the oil pressure pipe i think, i just had a custom braided hose made, nice and flexy Smile

Very tempted Smile just worried about the space in the 205 bulkhead.

More space down there in 205 than in a 306 believe it or not

i did this, sort of. i used a T25 compressor and centre housing and swapped the turbine and turbine housing for the T2. seems to have worked pretty well. managed to put a conrod through the block last week!

Right continuing this at a slight tangent

Anyone know of anyone in the West Midlands that can make up some adaptor plates for this?

I'm sure I'm tripping over engineering firms here, but don't know any personally.

Think I'd probably get two or maybe even three sets made up depending on cost.
