alternator set up
#1
Hi all on my 205 xud the engine came with power steering and air con. I removed the air con pump and bought a couple of belts to try when I did the conversion. The belt made for just power steering and alternator managed to squeeze on but it was hard. Are the alternator and power steering pump mounted differently if the engine has no air con on to begin with?

She drove fine for 1k miles then on my way to work tonight the belt is starting to come apart bad and nothing is fouling it, big strips coming off and all cracked. Hope I can make it the 30 mile trip home but not sure :z I've ordered the same belt again and gonna have a bash at adjusting the tension on the power steering pump as I didn't notice the spring adjuster when putting it all together.

Any suggestions? Or will this be the best way to tackle it. I'm thinking maybe the pump can be slackened a bit to take some of the tension away.

Many thanks
Chris
