i need some help.

ive managed to really f*ck up here. after my accident i had last month i insured another car. and stupidly i missed a payment. and because of that my insurance has been canceled.

seems every insurance company will not quote now because of this mispayment, and im unable to insure the car for less than £1200 for the year :/ is there any insurers that would be worth looking into?

and do i need to legally tell them about it?

trying to find a loophole in the law but struggling






anyone that knows my current situation knows 1200 a year is going to be unaffordable for me and may lead to me having to sell the car

Did you purposely miss a payment or was it a genuine case of just not having the money in your account? You could try phoning the insurer and pleading that your bank blocked all payments due to your account being emptied and see if they will give you back your policy?

no money in there. ive phoned them several times and talked to different people and because it was missed they sent me a letter (which i didnt get) which explianed it was getting canceled. because it has been canceled and passed over to the financial team they have no way of opening the policy again. so i now owe them £500 aswell :/ which wont be paid for a long time lol ( 5er a month)

Why do you owe them £500? If they are telling you you owe them for the remainder of the policy then tell them they can whistle for it if they are refusing to insure you!

Why the hell should you pay for a service your not receiving? They can't do that.

Yes....if your receiving the service. Which your not. Its not like if you take out a loan, you owe them all that money back. If you have gotten 3 months into a 12 month policy and they refuse to insure you for the remaining 9 month, what possible grounds have they got to demand you pay for them 9 months? That can't stand up in court as they are just demanding money for nothing.

Yeah they cant cancel the policy then charge you for the rest of the trem that your not gonna get

You do need to tell other insurers that you have had insurance cancelled but I would be arguing to get it un cancelled. How much of a payment did you miss, could you afford the rest of the term if they spread the cost of the missed payment over the top of the remaining payments

£66 lol funny thing is,i phoned them today to sort out paying for this month, and then paying next months in advance. to which they told me im not insured. they said something about because they had to pay out money to the other person involved in my crash that i had to pay. but yet i spoke to a different person and they told me they didnt know an outcome yet... so i dunno if they are trying to pull a fast one or not

Ah right ok i didn't know they had paid out. I forgot you had that accident.
Errm in which case, they do have more of a case to get the money from you. I know if you decide to cancel a policy mid term and you have claimed for anything, you do have to pay up so i can imagine this situation would be similar. Is this admiral by any chance? All sounds rather familiar....

yeah but i dont think they have paid out, because i asked the first person i talked to if anything was happening with it and she said it was still early days and they didnt know.

and then the second person i talk to says that i have to pay as they have paid out :/ and nah its the bloody rac. never had a problem with admiral myself and was with them for 4 years!
