abs air gap etc
#1
hi 306ers.........sunny day again here..........but damp over the weekend.......

so, needed air gap measurement for the rear sensors.......bosch vented disc up front and bendix non vented disc on the rears..........

freed off the 3 allen bolts ( replaced with hex head set bolts and washers, coppergreased etc ) on each side.........abs "ring" looks v good on both hubs ( they look like they are a separate item to the hubs?? ) .

Will disconnect the abs wires one at a time and remove the steel ( badly corroded and broken on the osr also ) shield for painting and a repair on the osr, by threading the abs wire thro the "hole"??

seen that the abs sensors come out in 2 bits, mentioned on here somewhere, corroded into the hole and break probably.

what would be the max air gap tween end of sensor and "teeth" and what resitance value would the sensor have when disconnected from the wireing plug please.

I suspect the sensor is a coil wound onto the central "spike" bit, and changes output vales when the wheel rotates similar to like an ign set up??

will need a caliper overhaul kit for each side soon, finances being saved for that, I hope that the h/brake cover, piston seal and boot as well as slide pins gaiters are available ???????

are rear shock absorber eye "rubber bushes" available items??

still struggling to find which fuse is which and what number they are abd what they protect etc....will send up some pics tomorrow about the fuse boxes......

thanks as always for a great site........!
