Part worns from ebay Steve! Wink

On topic though, welcome to the forum. Only 8 cars in 3 years isn't trying hard enough. Wink But 1.8s FTW...I'm on my 2nd 1.8 306 now, and trust me there are worse cars you could 'have to put up with' lol.

Also i know a man in shobdon who is a fantastic mechanic, one of only two people i will ever let work on my car, its all cash in hand and hes a peugeot master Big Grin

XSi Is moonstone blue i believe Smile im guessing you already have leather seats etc? i could sell you some cyclones? Tongue

I think that might be a bit lower than I wanted to go, but I would consider it at the right price. :p She's sat on 307 hdi's atm which I'm quite fond of so not after cyclones right now. Could you put me in touch with this guy in Shobdon please though, I'd really appreciate it! Smile

£30 sound the right price? Wink

Haha well if you include my motorbikes, I've had 14 vehicles Wink How come you got a second 1.8 instead of one of the 2.0s?

I am extremely tempted to take those off your hands... What kind of condition are they? Do you have any photos?

Haha, oh I see, I never bothered with bikes lol.

And I have a 1.8 because 2.0 XSi's are crap and 2.0 GTis are too expensive. lol

Though kinda regretting it a bit, its a lot slower than I remember...seeing as I've had much quicker cars since....before the 1st 1.8 I'd only had 1.4s lol.

The 1.4 and 1.6 are too slow... the xsi 2.0 is just as fuel hungry as a 6 but without the power. The 1.8 is a lighter engine and more efficient.

So the 1.8 is in the middle which makes it a fairly pointless choice as its not power or economy. But its still better than an xsi Tongue

Yeah I'm finding it a bit sluggish, especially as I've just come from my Honda CB600 with 0-60 under 4seconds :L It's quite a fair bit slower than my VTS was too. Still it's a 306 and that's a win!

Yeh but a VTS is lighter for a start... and it has the chav factor. Always going to be slow compared to a bike especially a cb600!

Yeah this is true and it produces more power, but I like all the posh bits on the 306: leather, air con etc Smile

I'm guessing because of the unique way the French make cars it's not as simple as getting it re-gassed?

Give it a try by all means, might be worth getting it pressure tested first though, sometimes they can even tell you where its leaking from. The ac in my old 1.4 worked untill i crashed it for the first time. Doh

Thank you, I loved it. And yes I agree, I think a lot of people would change their opinion after driving one. Completely different to the other Saxos. No it wasn't, it was Warwickshire actually! I think you're less likely to find a locked car in Herefordshire countryside than an unlocked one lol

That S16 is gorgeous! Can't believe it was so local too.
When you come to sell it, I don't suppose you'd want a 1.8 in part ex? Wink

Yeah I'll come up at the weekend for those springs & shocks and see what else takes my fancy Smile

Not these days....a few years ago there were some about that still worked (2 of mine did!) but not now haha. The pipes corrode and break...and one small front end nudge (which most have had by now) will make sure the lower front pipe breaks. lol
