Which Bilstein Kit?

Which Bilstein Kit?

Currently looking at a Bilstein damper kit for the HDi. Plans are to fit the Xsara VTS beam I'm rebuilding at moment. The front end is getting overhauled with new TRE's/BJ's/Droplinks/VTS front ARB/Top Mounts & bushes. I want the car to feel tight again.

Can't decide which Bilstein kit to get though.....the black OE B4, the uprated OE B6 or the B8, which is designed with B6 damper rates but meant for lowered cars. Pretty count out the B8 as I don't want to run any lower than I am. The car has GTi6/VTS front KYB shocks and is exactly how I want it (about 2-3 fingers between tyre and arch) so OE type dampers.

But, is there a difference between Xsara and 306 as the kits for B6 are different including the price!

B8 with eibachs seems to be the preferred setup of many members.

Thought B6's and B8's were the same stiffness just B8's are ment for lower cars? I may be wrong...

B6 and B8 are the same for the 306 actually, you're right that usually B8's are the same damping as B6 but shorter in length for lower cars, but not so on the 306. I have the same suspension setup as you are mentioning, B6/8 dampers, eibach springs and 21mm rear bars and it's really good, I would Buckley recommend the B6/8 dampers.

For the money the B4 setup is fantastic

not sure what the difference could be between the xsara / 306 tbh

Right chaps, anybody offer any advice......Xsara B12 kit or 306 B12 kit?

The Xsara kit appears to be for a higher axle load of 950kg, the 306 at 820kg. Would the Xsara higher load be for the thicker bars?

Ordered a set of Xsara VTS B4s in the end. £170 all in from MotorsportWorld.

Picked up my beam parts from Shitroen today as well. Game on.....
