Fiberglass bonnet mould team buy?
#1
Spoox are selling their moulds for 306 fiberglass bonnets

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Spoox-Motorspo...4d14a9495e

Currently at £285 or best offer. If a few of us went in together we could mould our own bonnets. 6 of us would be £50 each, 10 of us would be £30 each (plus fiberglass) but would probably end up with a sub £100 fiberglass bonnet. Obviously wed need to make up a rota of who gets it and when and how it gets moved and what happens once everyone has a bonnet but could be an awesome plan. TBH i reckon we could get it cheaper too.

That's been up for ages, someone suggested doing the same thing months ago. I'd buy it myself, but i'm making my own for considerably less lol

Exactly this. Its not as simple as just throwing fibreglass in the mould and a perfect bonnet comes in. Fibreglass is actually really expensive and a pain to do.

Lol Grant, true story.

It's not that expensive, or even difficult to do, but it is fairly painstaking and labour-intensive.

Whats the advantage of a fibreglass bonnet anyway? Is it literally just weight saving?

That's the advantage of pretty much all composite panels yeah.
This post is an artistic work of fiction and falsehood. Only a fool would take anything posted above as fact.

IIRC from reading last time spoox were selling this stuff; its a pain to get them without air bubbles in. Its not just a case of layering on the mat and then resin'ing it. So as to speak. If you were going to run off about 20 and sell them then i reckon it would be worth it. Otherwise,
