Strut top mounts

Looking at changing them on my HDI, is it best to change the whole lot, or just the bearings as i have seen you can just buy the bearings? Just wondering what peoples opinion is?

I'd change the mount at the same time tbh, and have done each time I've replaced them.

Nice one, cheers for the quick replies fellas.
Any recommendations on what make ones to get, i don't really want to pay Pug prices, but again i don't want to buy cheap ones that won't last.

Cheers Titch

Yep those are the ones I use too. Theyre probably the cheapest decent quality ones.

I bought motor factor ones and I didn't see anything wrong with them. Can't remember price, less then £40 though. It's also best to do them both at the same time.

If your asking for everyone's opinion i changed the whole lot on mine but in reality i could of got away with just changing the bearings, if i had to do it again i would save myself £25 or so and change just the bearing as my bearing was absolutely shot (rusted and ball bearings falling out when took apart) they are easy to pop out the mount Smile

I had to change the mount as the bolt holes to hold to the chassis were gone Sad

Another vote for SKF ones! Only thing to be careful of is the threads are quite soft so don't cross thread them!
