Well hello there.
I've never owned a 306 before. Are they any good? Or should I get a Citroen Xsara as aren't they basically the same thing only better built and with superior handling?
OK enough trolling.
Old-timer here. Bit of history -
1st Car = 1992 Vauxhall Nova 1.2i Merit Saloon
Miss this car a lot
Was my first car and I could drive it all day easily (skinny tyres + no power steering) and it just went and went. Could park it anywhere too, there was no way anyone was going to nick it!

Ran it until some scrotes broke into it and trashed it.
2nd car = 1999 Peugeot 306 1.8 XS
This car was amazing for a first 'proper car' although it only had 112bhp it did look very nice.

As with all 18 year olds I modified the tits off it and when I was finished it looked like this -

That was at the chavfest which was ISTS at Donny!
Then bought a proper 306,
3rd car = 2000 Peugeot 306 2.0 GTi6

Notice I kept the wheels!
This thing blew up and in the pic above the car was pushed to that position. The ownership that followed the repair was also swift -

Less said about that the better. The airbags didn't deploy (hint: don't buy a CAT D car again)
4th car = 2001 Peugeot 306 1.8 Cabriolet
First proper girly car. This was the best example (I reckon) in the country. Was slow and boring to drive but had a full leather retrim and an electric roof, which even worked!

That had to go in favour of something more fun. The girlfriend at the time (of 6 pain-filled years) actually left me, so I was free to get something stupid...
5th car = 1996 Eunos Roadster 1.8i S-Special Type II

Very, very reluctant sale :nope:
Then got all silly and bought my current steed, a 2001 Toyota Celica 190 (with the VVTL-i engine) which has served me very well, but it's proving too expensive to do 15,000 miles a year in whilst wanting to move out with my girlfriend. Looks epic though and is probably the fastest / most powerful car I will own for a while now...

So why am I here?
Basically I would like another 306, only this time a diseasel. Preferably 3 door but would consider a good 5 door. The main problem I'm facing is not being able to find many locally, especially with less than 100,000 miles on it. It needs to have less than 100k for me to convince my dad that it's a better choice than a 406, which is what he thinks I should buy!!
So if you're considering selling your 3-door HDi soon, give me a shout...
